Ghoul Study

Well, I just started sketching the other night...and this is what came from the nighted, horror-infected vaults of my mind.

Um, I wasn't even sure what this guy was until I was about halfway done with him. Turn's out, he's a ghoul.

According to to the Lovecraftian Mythos (which is my favorite set of deity myths, even though it's fake):
A ghoul is not a zombie...zombies are the reanimated dead, while ghouls are actual living creatures that were once human, but morphed and altered into horrific versions of their former selves, due to a constant diet of corpses. They will not eat living things, or even recently living things, because bodies in such a fresh state can be poisonous to them. If they're desperate enough, they'll kill a living thing, and then leave it to rot for a good while before devouring it. They are lovers of knowledge, particularly knowledge that has supposedly been lost to the rest of the normal human race. They're very wise, but jealous of their horded collections of tomes and ancient books, and can become quite vicious if their treasures are threatened. Mostly though, they keep quietly to themselves, hiding out in graveyards, crypts and underground forgotten places, and don't care to bother with the affairs of humans.

I think I'll name him Eugene.
